How to Import Color Palettes into Procreate Transcript:

  • In this video, I will show you several ways to import

    color palettes into procreate.

    importing color palettes with Dropbox

I already have the color palette files in my Dropbox account

    login to your Dropbox account

and add the files to your account before following

    these instructions in the description

below this video. There is a link to instructions from

Dropbox and how to add files to your

Dropbox account if you need help with getting them into

    your account

Right now I'm in the procreate Gallery, but I'm

switching to using the Dropbox app that is

    on my iPad.

Let's open up the Dropbox app. This will load

all the files and folders in my Dropbox account.

I have a lot of folders I have organized in Dropbox.

For this example, I'm going to open up a folder from

my florals for products course and use.

A swatches file here as an example.

But you can do this for any folder that you

    have saved procreate swatches, too.

You can create a folder and Dropbox specifically for

swatches if you want to organize them that way so

that they are all in one place.

I am definitely going to do that as well. Now that

    I said that.

Here is one of the Swatch files. I have saved for

a lesson. Now. I have the swatches file

selected. If I select these three dots

on the top, right it will bring up some options for

this file. I'm going to select the first option

which is share and then select export

file. Now you can see that several options

    have come up.

I can airdrop to my computer or I can select the

procreate app. I'm going to select the procreate

    app.

Now it opens up the procreate gallery to

check that. My color palette was imported into procreate.

I need to open up a document to access

    the color palettes.

So I'm going to select this blank canvas at

    the top of my gallery.

If I select palettes and go to compact view, I

can see all of my palettes.

You can see this palette was placed in my color palette at

the top, but sometimes it places the palettes

at the very bottom of your palette. So check there

as well. I'm going to delete this palette though, since it's

a duplicate for me since I already have this palette in

here.importing pallets from an open document

Since we now have a procreate document open, I'm

going to show you how to import color palettes into an

open document from the palettes panel.

At the top of the palettes I'm selecting the plus button.

This will bring up some options. I'm going to

select new from file. This will open

up the file manager and I'm in my Dropbox files.

It's showing me the last place. I was

    in my account.

So I'm going to select this watch file and import this

one again, and you can see it imported it into my

palettes here that is it for this How To tutorial

and getting Swatch files into your color

    palettes in procreate.
