Illustrating banksia plant in procreate - episode 6

video - Episode 6

In this video, I share how I created custom artwork for the Australian and New Zealand regions, featuring the beautiful Banksia plants. In this timelapse video, I take you through the intricate details of the Banksia's flowers, all created with a fuzzy look to capture the plant's unique texture.

When creating this artwork, it was helpful to think about the different shapes that could help bring the plant to life. For instance, I wanted to capture the plant's furry look, so thinking about the plant having fur enabled me to bring that detail to life in my illustration.

Enjoy watching this timelapse video chat episode that showcases the beauty of Banksia plants and the creative process and where I share inspiration and insights into the world of botanical illustration and how to think differently about the shapes and textures that make each plant unique.
